A R40 million Sasol water scheme which involved design, project and construction of a 600mm, 40km water pipeline for Sasol synfuels in Secunda.

Rand Water Services has utilised its international alliance with Cornet and Kinsbergen as an entry into the pipeline industry. By offering technologies such as eddy scanning, thermal remote sensing, carbon fibre repairs and other acoustic based technologies we have revolutionised the pipeline integrity market.

Numerous projects have been executed at the Department of Water Affairs and Forestry or other water boards and metropolitans in South Africa. In addition, industrial consumers have also utilised the pipeline integrity management services available at Rand Water Services.

We are geared towards the implantation and specialised technologies and services and therefore will focus on the design and development of five to ten year monitoring contracts with our existing and targeted customers.

About the O2 pipeline refurbishment project 2006.

The pipeline is called the O2 pipeline, this has no relation to the chemical notation for oxygen and is merely the code given to the line by the line owner Rand Water.

The O2 pipeline is one of the oldest pipelines in the Rand Water network and is one of high importance due to the quantity of water it can distribute.

Rand Water's O2 Pipeline runs through Bedfordview (High risk area). Project work consists; of Eddy Current Scanning, Reporting, Carbon Fibre repairs, Rubber Seals to joints, 1500m of slip lining grouting of Annulus (cavity between Steel lan and Concrete Pipe)
